We have been carrying out works on behalf of Keepmoat (a national market leader in community regeneration) since January 2013. We have worked on various different projects providing commercial contract asbestos removal:
We employed a UKAS accredited surveying company who undertook refurbishment surveys on the external of the building to identify if any asbestos is present. Once asbestos had been identified a full survey was produced and the submitted to the client. This led to carrying out asbestos cement soffit removal, encapsulations works and removal of asbestos guttering in accordance with the clients programme.
Removal of asbestos containing floor tiles also including Artex removal and encapsulation works.
Once again we were commissioned to organize refurbishment surveys on the external of the property. The surveys indicated that Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) soffit was present. To remove the AIB soffit a licensed scaffold contractor had to be employed who provided us with an independent scaffold platform for access which we could form our enclosure off. The scaffold contractor along with us had to submit extensive amounts of 14 day notifications in order to keep up with the client programme. Once the scaffold was constructed, tagged we then constructed the enclosures using 1,000 gauge polythene, sealed with cloth tape, 3 stage airlocks and 3 stage bag locks were placed onto the enclosure before the negative pressure unit was attached. Prior to removal works commencing we undertook a smoke test which the site manager witnessed and signed off as satisfactory. The asbestos was removed and cleaned in accordance with the plan of work before being presented for air clearance in which we employed a UKAS accredited company who ensured the area was ready for re-occupation.
